Wedding Review: "When two cultures come together..How do you plan a wedding when the bride and groom are from a different culture or religion?
I had the pleasure of planning an amazing wedding where the bride and groom came from very different cultures. The bride was Hindi, living in the US. The groom was Jewish, born in Mexico.
The challenge presented was how to combine both traditions from 2 distinct cultures; while maintaining the most important aspect....the love and respect for each detail.
...and of course, keep the elements of surprise.
Here are some OOps and Wow moments from this beautiful event.
The WOW! Moment?
The element of surprise was when the groom entered this old Villa with mariachis following him! Everyone was shocked to hear him serenading her. But the real WOW moment was when the traditional Mexican mariachi songs turned into Hebrew/Israeli songs. This fun twist gave a final touch to a priceless moment.
Oops! Moment
The BIG Ooops came when we had a toast to end the evening with a tradition that the groom had when growing up. We had planned to serve a hot chocolate (mexican style) with some cookies also bro
ught from Mexico at the end of the evening and the groom had planed a very romantic speech to surprise the whole family, but to HIS surprise the bride ordered the chocolate to be served at another time and the groom did not even realized that it was being passed until it was too late. This are ooops of surprising too many people

Make sure to discuss with the vendors exactly what is happening so they know who to report to in case they receive different information from the bride or groom.
As a tip.... follow your instincts, bring in your own traditions, they are the emotional connection that makes those moments priceless
